What is the Big Welsh Coastal Walk?
Ramblers Cymru will be leading walks across Wales on the 5th -6th May 2012 in celebration of the Wales Coast Path opening. the Path is 870 miles long, once opened, the path will become the longest continual path covering the whole of a country’s coastline. It will, furthermore, link up with Offa’s Dyke Path National Trail to create a 1000 mile continuous walk right around the whole of Wales.
The Wales Coast Path has been developed by the Welsh Government in partnership with the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW), sixteen local authorities and two National Parks. In addition to funding from the Welsh Government and the coastal local authorities of approximately £2 million per year, the European Regional Development Fund has allocated nearly £4 million over four years in support of the project. |

Sponsorship
Any money raised will help towards the prevention of domestic abuse within Wales, however, we would like individuals to raise a minimum of
£50 in sponsorship for this event - all sponsorship will need to be with us by the
11th May 2012.
Equipment
For your walk you will need:
- Waterproof clothing
- Comfortable shoes (preferably walking boots)
- Food/Snacks
- Water
If you have any special requirements including whether you are diabetic, asthmatic or epileptic please state this on your registration form.
