Leave a Legacy
Leaving a gift in your Will - You may be aware of the alarming statistic that Domestic Abuse affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 12 men at some point in their lives. The unpredictability of life means that we may at some point find ourselves in a close relationship that results in abusive behaviour be it physical, psychological or emotional. Alternatively, we may have to stand by and watch a loved one, mother, daughter, son or close friend, live through the devastating personal affects of abuse. It is these vulnerable individuals that Hafan Cymru supports. When they are no longer able to endure the physical and emotional pain to themselves, and often to their children, we help them break free from violence and piece their lives back together again.
We cannot predict, or often choose, what life has in store for any of us. For this reason, we are asking you to consider leaving a legacy to the work of Hafan Cymru. Your legacy would help us in our daily fight to prevent abuse and promote independence in Wales.
If you have already made a Will - If you have already made a Will, but would like to leave a gift to Hafan Cymru, you can do so by making a simple addition to your existing Will. This is called a codicil. By adding this supplement to your Will you can include new instructions and delete old ones without having to go through the task of revoking the whole Will.
If you have not already made a Will - If you do not have a Will at the moment, you may need to see a solicitor. Although you will have to pay a fee, you will receive sound professional advice and can be sure that your wishes are achieved.
