Supporting People

On the 1st October Plaid Cymru announced a two-year agreement with Welsh Labour to protect the Supporting People programme budget. Hafan Cymru staff and clients were honoured to attend the Supporting People Rally organised by Cymorth and CHC on 5th October 2017, where speakers Katie Dalton, Director Cymorth, Carl Sargeant Cabinet Minister for Communities and Children, Mark Isherwood AM and Bethan Jenkins AM spoke strongly about the work being undertaken by organisations in the Third Sector, which makes a real difference to their way of life, health and wellbeing.  The services delivered provides much-needed support for people who face life challenges and helps them regain their independence.

Bethan Jenkins AM was able to attend one of our projects earlier this year and she was impressed by the work that Hafan Cymru is delivering across Wales. We were able to highlight the impacts and outcomes that our work achieves; enabling people to regain their confidence, build life skills and help move them towards independence.

With the announcement by Welsh Government that the Supporting People budget will be protected for the next two years we hope, along with our partners and stakeholders, that we can continue to support and assist many more families, Men, Women and young people across Wales.
