We support young people in every area we work in and we have a specific housing projects for young people across Wales. These young person’s projects provide specialist support for vulnerable young people where the support package is designed around their individual needs. These provide intensive support for young people aged 16 to 21 and assist in ensuring that they can move on into longer term independence within the community.
Those living in shared accommodation usually share a communal kitchen, living space and/or garden. A support worker organises regular house meetings so that individuals that are housed are encouraged to help themselves and to give each other mutual support.
Each person receiving support is allocated a Support. They provide an individually tailored package of support to each service user and their children.
All the young people we support can access our in-house learning and work programme Moving On, which enables them to build up skills, return to full-time education or other learning and where appropriate find voluntary or paid employment. This is part of Hafan Cymru’s long-term aim of ensuring that we enable all those whom we support to become fully independent and active citizens.
We support young women in all the counties Hafan Cymru work in.
