Posted in the News Category
Professor Medwin Hughes is coming to the end of his year of office as Her Majesty’s High Sheriff of Dyfed. It is a long standing custom that the office holder bestows an honorary distinction upon individuals and organisations who have made a significant contribution to charity and voluntary work within the community. Every year the High Sheriff announces a number of awards in recognition of achievement with the High Sheriff’s award seen as a formal recognition of the significant contribution made.
This year the High Sheriff selected Men’s Sheds Cymru as one of these worthy initiatives within the Shrievalty this year. Professor Hughes invitation stated ‘I have been very much aware of the outstanding work achieved by the many staff and volunteers associated with your Organisation. What has been achieved in community and voluntary work is outstanding. The Community is indebted to the Organisation for its valuable service.’
The award was presented at the High Sheriff’s award ceremony which was held on Wednesday 29 March at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s Carmarthen campus.
